SPECIAL RULES

1.       This label competition is open to all California homebrewers.

2.       Labels must have been designed and produced in California for non-commercial use.

3.       Each label entry must consist of both a flat, mounted label and a label mounted on a beer bottle. Flat labels must be submitted mounted on heavy mat board with a white window mat placed on top. Outside measurements of mat boards must be 8" x 10" (no exceptions).

4.       All flat mounted entries must include a completed label entry form and a 3" x 5" card attached to the back of the mat board with the following information (no additional identification is required on the back of the bottle for the bottle-mounted labels):

5.       There is no limit to the number of entries per individual.

6.       All entries become the property of the California State Fair and none will be returned.

7.       Past California State Fair Award Winning Labels are not eligible to compete again.

8.       The California State Fair reserves the right to photograph and reproduce any label accepted in the exhibition catalog, publications, journals and any other publicity materials. Proper credit will be given. Submission of an entry to this competition implies acceptance of all conditions herein stated.

9.       All other rules of the California State Fair shall apply, published or not.

 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1.       A $10.00 entry fee is required for each entry (label). Make checks payable to: CALIFORNIA BREWERS GUILD, LLC, - HBLC?

2.       Entry information, entry fees, and both labels must be received by May 21. Mail or deliver entries to:

3.       Label entries that do not include both a flat, mounted label and a bottle-mounted label will not be eligible for award but may be displayed at the California State Fair.

4.       No late entries will be accepted.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Selection of award winning labels shall be made by a jury of three qualified judges. Due to the uniqueness of this art form, the jury shall include: 1) a graphic artist; 2) a commercial artist; and 3) a representative from the fields of commercial brewing or homebrewing. The jurors decisions shall be final.

 Classes of labels are computer generated or freehand.

AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

A maximum of three Awards of Excellence may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
